Mt. ShooTao Hot Pot 蜀道山火锅 is a hot pot in New York, New York. It is listed at 35 W 35th St, New York, NY 10001, which places it among the local businesses of New York that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as chinese restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in New York; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 12 pm–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came here for hot pot and they really said here’s an entire mountain of beef 😂 The meat was actually really good though. Super fresh, tender, and they definitely did not cheap out on the portions. The giant beef platter looked ridiculous in the best way possible. Veggies were fresh too and somehow made me feel slightly healthier about the amount of meat I just consumed. Also really liked all the little side dishes they bring out. Everything tasted good, presentation was 10/10, and the whole place has a pretty cool vibe. Would come back. Probably with more people next time because apparently I thought I was feeding a small village.

Mt. ShooTao Hot Pot was a fun spot for a group dinner. The broth was flavorful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and there were plenty of options to choose from. They also had a couple vegetarian broths. The restaurant is modern and comfortable, and the hot-pot experience was enjoyable from start to finish. It can get a little expensive once you add several plates, but overall it was a good meal and I’d go back.

Super fresh food, great service, and located in a very convenient spot. We were surprised that the sauce bar was an extra $2/ person, but it was unlimited refills and there were many extra snacks, side dishes, and some sweet oranges. I felt like it was quite reasonable.

Best Hotpot in Manhattan Right Now! Shu Dao Shan (蜀道山) is my new favorite hotpot spot in NYC. The mushroom soup base is insanely flavorful and fragrant, while the mala spicy base is perfectly numbing and aromatic. Both are the best I’ve had in New York. The beef is super fresh, thinly sliced, and tender. All the offal, meatballs, and sides are excellent too. Great value (around $80-120 for two), friendly service, and lively atmosphere. Highly recommend!

First time at a hot pot and have to say I enjoyed it greatly! Mushroom broth was terrific as well as the meats, shrimp, beef and vegetables. Great experience, delicious and fun! Staff did a wonderful job of explaining the process which could have been daunting. Great dinner at a reasonable price in a good location.
